Home Industries

The Home Industries Pavilion is a large and interesting section showcasing a diverse range of artistic and homecraft skills attracting many individual entries.
 
The pavilion has sections catering for everyone starting at preschool and beyond, with entries being divided into adult, student and preschool sections. Floral art, cut flowers, wine, eggs and preserves, cooking including YFC entries, trays, needlework and sewing, craft includes woodwork and teddy bears, creative fibre, knitting, photography and art attract our adult entrants. For the students, there is cooking, craft, sewing, technology, student group entries, Lego, junk to funk, art, flowers and grain & seeds. Our preschool section attracts lots of entries from local preschool students whose family members love to come and view these precious and talented entries. On Saturday afternoon, a Tiny Tot show is held attracting a large crowd. 

Upcycled Wearable Waste section is a new part of the HIP and proving to be another interesting attraction.

- A collection of three varieties of handwork to be displayed in an area 50cm wide by 75cm depth.

To be judged on presentation.


PRESCHOOL ART
ALL PIECES SHOULD REFLECT THE SHOW THEME

PICTURES
We encourage creative use of drawings using pencil, crayon, felts, charcoal etc, and paintings using paints and dyes.
Our judging takes into consideration the SHOW THEME and encourages an anecdotal/narrative to describe the masterpiece. Please write this on the front of the picture, DO NOT put the child's age or name on the front (name and age must appear on the back of the art work please)
COLLAGE
This class specifically encourages the use of materials such as; paper, wood shavings, fabric, cloth, card, wool, thread, leaves. petals, seeds and shapes etc.

Please remember to bring any payments you owe to back no office as no back no will be issued unless all money owed is paid.

Show Jumping Riders you need to give us a copy of your Rider Registration form before you can start and any levies owed need to be paid.

EQUESTRIAN

     The Ashburton A&P Show has a large and varied Equestrian section with classes catering from the Pony Grand Prix Show Jumping through to Showing Ponies, Horses, Youngstock, Clydesdales down to the  Miniatures and Shetlands.

At the 2016 show we introduced new sections and look forward to competitors returning to support these sections including Ridden Warmbloods, Ridden Pintos, Inhand Gypsy Vanners and Shetland Harness

We welcome judges from Auckland, Pukekohe, Mosgiel  Riversdale, South Canterbury and the wider Canterbury area to this year’s 2017 show.

The Unity classes are set to start at 8am, Saturday in the Pony Showing rings with the Best Presented classes following on at 8.30am.  Saddle Pony Hunters have a full schedule of classes on Friday morning alongside the Ashburton District, Novice and Pony Club Pairs classes held from 8.30am.   Saturday features classes for  the Open Show ponies and First Ridden riders commence at 8.30am followed by the Led Rein Pony classes

The Show Jumping in Ring 1 has a full day on Friday and starts at approximately  10.30am on Saturday.  Ring 2 Show Jumping commences on both days at lunchtime.
