Judging to commence at 10.00 a.m.

 

For Herd Register & Associated Records.

Must comply with the by-laws of the RAS of N.Z. for the exhibition of Dairy Goats

 

Entry Fee:   $4.00

Prize Money: 1st $5, 2nd $3, 3rd $2

 

Prize Money will be awarded as follows:

1 or 2 entries.  First Prize Money.

3 or 4 entries.  First and Second Prize Money.

 

A TROPHY will be awarded to the Exhibitor gaining the most points in the Goat Section.  To be held by the winner for one year.  2009 winner - M Puckett

 

HARVEY NORMAN LUCKY PRIZE DRAW - $100 will be available to one Goat participating in the Grand Parade at 2.00 p.m.

 

Dairy Goats

 

THE ASSOCIATION gives Champion and Reserve Champion ribbons.

 

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:  All goats must be penned by 9am.

 

EXHIBITORS MUST PROVIDE HERD BOOK NUMBER WITH ENTRY.

 

Standard Age Classes for Does

 

Class 345  KIDDED DOE, in milk, under three years.

 

Class 346  KIDDED DOE, in milk, 3 years and under 5 years

 

Class 347  KIDDED DOE, in milk, 5 years and over

 

CHAMPION DOE: to be selected from the first prizes winners in the above three classes.

 

RESERVE CHAMPION DOE: the second prize winner in the class from which the Champion was selected to be paraded with the other prize winners for selection of Reserve.

Special Classes

 

All animals entered in this section must be entered in their standard age class.

 

Class 349  SENIOR PROGENY

Two daughters in milk of same sire but different dams.  The names of the sire and dams to be given on the entry form.

 

Class 350  TYPE & PRODUCTION

Rules as per NZDGBA & Premier Regulations

 

Class 351  BEST UDDER

Open to all does who have borne a kid.  To be judged  when full and again when stripped out.

Points awarded for both full and empty udder to be totalled to determine the prize winners. (Does must be finally stripped prior to entering the ring for empty udder judging.

 

Class 352  JUNIOR SPORTSMANSHIP - 15 years of age and under

To be judged on exhibitor's ability to lead, place, turn, stop and start their goat.  To answer two questions.  Show preparation and appearance of both exhibitor and goat to be taken into account.  Exhibitor's age to be included on entry form.

 

Class 353  JUNIOR HERDSPERSON -15 yrs up to 25 yrs, showing an adult goat

To be judged on presentation and knowledge of the anatomy of the animal, the handling and health of the adult goat

Does not have to belong to the exhibitor

 

Class 354  JUNIOR PROGENY

Two daughters under 30 months that have not borne a kid, of same sire but different dams.  The names of the sire and dams to be given on the entry form.

 

Standard Age Classes for Junior Does

 

Class 355  MAIDEN DOE OR GOATLING

Over 12 months and under 30 months, that  has never borne a kid, including maiden milkers and springing does.

 

Class 356  DOE KID, to be under 12 months

 

CHAMPION JUNIOR DOE to be selected from the above two classes.

 

RESERVE CHAMPION JUNIOR DOE. The second place winner in the class from which the Champion was selected to be paraded with the other first place winner for selection of Reserve.

 

Buck Classes

 

Class 357  HERD REGISTER BUCK KID, under 12 months

 

Class 358  HERD REGISTER BUCKLING, 12 months and under two years

 

Class 359  HERD REGISTER BUCK, 2 years and over

 

CHAMPION HERD REGISTER BUCK to be selected from above two classes.

 

RESERVE CHAMPION BUCK. The second place winner in the class that the Champion was selected to be paraded with the other place winner for the selection of Reserve.
