PLEASE NOTE: A limited amount of float parking will be available at the Eastern End of the Grounds.
CONDITIONS:
1. To be on the ground ready for judging by 8.00am.
2. To be eligible for District classes Horse or Pony must be owned by resident of district and ridden by owner or member of owner's family also a resident of district.
3. DEFINITION OF A NOVICE - A Novice is a HORSE or PONY that has not won 6 first in conformation classes (including Ladies & Gentlemen’s Hack Classes) at any A&P show up to the first day of the Show. If 6 wins are gained after the close of entries, the Competitor must advise the Secretary's Office, and may transfer to an open class or a refund actioned after the show. A Novice Paced & Mannered Horse/Pony is one which has not won 6 first in Paced & Mannered classes.
4. NOVICE HORSE OR PONY to be shown in snaffle bit only.
5. NOVICE CHEATING within three months of the show, a person found to have knowingly entered Novice ineligibly, that the A&P Association reserve the right to publicly withdraw those ribbons or prizes
Novice and Open Horses/Ponies must carry Height Certificates and Performance Cards, failure to do so will result in elimination. The Central Districts of the Royal Agricultural Society collates all A&P Show results to enable Secretaries to keep a record of all Novice Wins.
6. All riding classes to be ridden astride.
7. All horses entered must CARRY a current height certificate either;
(a) Life Certificate
(b) R.A.S. Annual Certificate
(c) Ashburton A & P Certificate. (Day Measure)
8. Horses entered in the Standardbred Classes must carry a recognised Standardbred brand.
9. Saddle Horses and Ponies may not exhibit as Cobs or vice versa. Competition classes an exception.
10. Some overnight accommodation on the grounds is available on application (see entry form). The acceptance of your entry fee does not guarantee that stabling requirements will be allocated as requested
11. The use of temporary yards is prohibited at all times.
12. 80% refunds of entry fees will only be made on production of a Veterinary Certificate or Medical Certificate to be dated stating when injury or illness occurred. To be received by Show Secretary no later than seven days after last day of Show.
13. Only on the production of a Veterinary Certificate may an original entry be replaced by a substitute the name of the owner of the original entry on
written notification to the Secretary.
14. Ponies under 3 years old may not be shown in saddle classes.
15. Ponies entered in the novice classes must be ridden in a snaffle bit.
16. Grand Parade will be held in the judging rings at 2.00 p.m. on Saturday and all prize winners are required to parade. Two cash prize draws of $150 will be available to all horses and ponies participating in the Grand Parade.
17. Prize money will be handed out in the judging ring along with the award ribbons.
18. Prize money in ALL horse events (except ESNZ Jumping Classes) will be paid out on a ratio of 1 to 3 on entries received, up to 4 placings.
19. HORSE MEASURING WILL BE BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT ONLY - $20 PER HORSE/PONY. Phone (03) 307-0008.
20. Drug testing may be carried out under the Regulations and Bylaws of the R.A.S. Section 55A & Equestrian Competitors Handbook. These Regulations, Bylaws and Procedures are available for inspection at the Secretary’s Office.
21. The exhibitors entering or competing at the Show shall be deemed to accept and be bound by these Regulations, Bylaws and Procedures.
22. All entries must be made in the name of the bona fide owner of the exhibit. A bona fide owner shall include a PARTNERSHIP of LEASE registered with the R.A.S. prior to closing of entries A Lease must be for a term of not less that six months and must be registered with the R.A.S. Central District Office
23. Restricted classes are excluded from points prizes.
24. Championship Judging First placegetters in Conformation Classes only to parade for Championship Judging. Second placegetters to standby. The second placegetter to the Champion only to parade for Reserve Champion judging with first placegetters.
25. Late entries in FEI classes. A 50% penalty will apply, and such competitors will be required to ride first.
26. Trophies available after engraving.
27. POST ENTRIES AND TRANSFER NOT PERMITTED EXCEPT ON VETERINARY, DOCTOR OR HEIGHT CERTIFICATES.
28. THE ONLY BACK NUMBERS PERMITTED WILL BE THOSE PROVIDED BY THE ASHBURTON A&P ASSOCIATION. A $7 fee will be charged for all back numbers with $5 refundable upon return. A $2 fee will be retained for a Judges Travel Fund, to be used at the discretion of the Ashburton A&P Association towards reimbursing equestrian Judges some travel expenses incurred
29. Whips to be no longer than 76cms.
30. FEI entries for Friday and Saturday competition must be lodged on BOTH an A&P Association and ESNZ entry form.
31. Helmets must comply with RAS Rule No. 51 (c) - All riders 16 and under must wear protection headgear, which includes a retaining harness secured to the shell at more than 2 points. Such headgear must be worn with the chinstrap properly adjusted and fastened when in the arena or ring, the practice area collecting rings or anywhere else on the Showgrounds.
32. "This show supports the trailed RAS 'yellow card' system (as per resolution at 2009 annual conference), which will be submitted for any inappropriate behaviour towards show officials, judges, fellow competitors or any other third party connected with the show bringing the equestrian discipline into disrepute, or cases which are of a less serious nature to the above in accordance with the conduct of members, owners, lessees, competitors and/or exhibitors as provided in the RAS equestrian competitors and judges rulebook and rule 13 of the RAS constitution".
33. Equestrian Levy: All Equestrian Entry Fees include an RAS Levy of $1 per Class.
